We previously wrote an article on May 4th about the case of an Eyptian convert, from Islam to Christianity, who was thrown in prison in Cairo for his conversion.
We recieved an email this week from one of his family memebers urging us to remember him, as his trial date looms on June 15th – just days away. In the worst case, the trial could result in a life sentence or death penalty.
Below is the update we recieved (some personal information of the family member has been removed for safety).
To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to provide a crucial reminder and update regarding the case of my fiancé, Said Mansour Rezk Abdelrazek, whose story you have previously covered. His next trial hearing in Egypt is scheduled for next week, on 15 June 2026.
With the trial just days away, his situation has reached a critical turning point. Since your previous reporting, Amnesty International has officially issued an Urgent Action (Index: MDE 12/0973/2026), cementing his status as an internationally recognized religious prisoner of conscience.
As you monitor this upcoming hearing, here is a brief reminder of the core facts of his case:
-
- The Trial: Said faces fabricated terrorism charges before the First Criminal Terrorism Circuit Court in Badr—a tribunal notorious for severe human rights violations.
- The Persecution: His “crime” is solely his conversion from Islam to Christianity and his attempt to update his religious identity documents. At his last hearing, the judge focused entirely on interrogating his private faith.
- The Conditions: He remains detained in Cairo’s 10th of Ramadan Prison, where he has suffered severe physical abuse and torture aimed at forcing him to renounce his faith.
Public scrutiny and media attention are the only mechanisms that hold the Egyptian authorities accountable. Your voice previously made a difference, and a follow-up piece or a brief update ahead of June 15th could directly impact how he is treated in that courtroom.
I would be incredibly grateful if you could keep Said’s upcoming trial on your radar.
Thank you for your ongoing attention to this urgent matter.
Please remember Said Mansour Rezk Abdelrazek and his family in your prayers. We pray he would know great courage and perfect peace in the midst of this persecution, and God’s will would be done.

praying and circulating!! we love you Said, do not give up or give in. Jesus is worthy and is your strength! Lord give him the strength.
this man has not done anything deserving the death penalty. you should be setting him free not abusing him.
we are praying fir him to stand strong and that he is freed.
Said, praying for Mary’s intercession that she may come in dreams to those who are adjudicating this and may she for her son -Jesus Christ change their hearts. Your witness will re-sound across the world! May you be given super natural strength to endure this torture and also that the peace of Christ reign in your heart. Jesus we trust in you!
