Zion Church Update: Please be Praying for June 18th

The believers of Zion Church in China are urgently asking for prayers for June 18th, the date that should be the end of the official investigation period.

Zion Church was raided in October of last year when several of the leaders were arrested and detained without any official charges. The charges were supposed to be outlined during the investigation period, but the investigation period has been illegally extended on multiple occasions, with the latest extension on April 16th.

According to Chinese law, the police typically have a maximum of 37 days to submit the case for review and obtain approval of arrest, but the Chinese have clearly broken this rule in an effort to persecute the Christians of Zion Church.

It has been almost a month since it was reported that U.S. President, Donald Trump, lobbied for the release of Zion Church’s imprisoned founding pastor, Ezra Jin. Since that date, China’s President has only ramped up the persecution against the church, launching additional raids in the city of Wenzhou.

It is imperative that Christians join their Chinese brothers and sisters in praying for the detained leaders and workers, their families, and the June 18th date.

One leader with the Zion church told BTJ, “We are praying and hoping some people will be released. But we will wait and see what God will do. We are praying with hope.”
