What God is Doing in the Darkest Places of the World

Often at Back to Jerusalem, the greatest stories from the mission field are the ones that cannot be fully told. In many of the regions where Chinese house church missionaries serve, even the smallest detail could place lives in danger, yet behind that silence are powerful testimonies of faith—quiet movements of God unfolding in some of the most restricted places on earth.

When asked about stories like this, many in the Chinese church will recall the story of Brother Yun, known as The Heavenly Man,” who while imprisoned for preaching the Gospel told his wife he was ready to die for God, but his mother retorted with wisdom that has shaped this mission movement: Jesus doesnt want you to die for Him, but to live for Him.”

That is our prayer for every missionary—not that they would become martyrs, but that they would live for Christ and bring Him glory among the unreached. In this episode, Eugene gives us a glimpse into what God is doing right now across the underground network, from Chinese believers serving in some of the most hostile regions of the world. From Afghanistan, where more than 100 new believers were baptized last month, to new opportunities emerging near North Korea through Bible distribution.

These reports remind us that even in the darkest places between China and Jerusalem, the Gospel continues to move forward through disciples who choose to live for Christ while dying to the world.
