Robot Wins Half Marathon in China and it Begs the Question: Is This Future of Christian Persecution?

One of the most difficult things for a robot to do is walk. For centuries, robot developers have found it almost impossible to mimic the human coordination needed for walking, but now Chinese robot makers have not only made robots that can walk, but now they can run!

Yesterday, China put an android in a half marathon race in Beijing and the robot outpaced the entire field of humans, essentially beating every human record in history.

Lightning, a running robot developed by Chinese smartphone maker Honor, finished the 21-kilometer run in Beijing in an unbelievable 50 minutes and 26 seconds, beating the human world record by more than six minutes. The human record of 57 minutes and 20 seconds is held by Ugandan runner Jacob Kiplimo, according to World Athletics.

Though it is fascinating to watch China’s development of robots, it is also concerning for those who live in China, because China has been at the forefront of using technology against its citizens, including Christians.

It is not a farfetched idea that robots could possibly be used against Christians in future. The marathon running robot yesterday was developed by the smartphone company Honor, a phone company that is banned in the US because of its ties to Huawei and the CCP.  From the moment that the Internet hit the world stage, Beijing has restricted access to websites by building the worlds most comprehensive firewall system known as the Great Firewall.

As China developed and produced the worlds cheapest security cameras, those same devices were places all over the nation to monitor every move that house church members made. When 3G was developed, China immediately deployed it to monitor their Christian population. As soon as AI went mainstream, China weaponized it against the church.

Watching a robot run a half-marathon swinging its short forearms for balance and showing no sign of having to slow down as it dashed past the finish line makes many believers in China wonder how long it will be before they are used to hunt down Christians.
