Thank you to those who prayed for our Egyptian brother who had his court date on Monday 15th. He faces up to the death penalty for converting to Christianity from Islam.
His family were in contact with us yesterday with an update, saying, “By the will of God the case has been adjourned till the 6th September.” Had the trial gone on yesterday, as was planned, the defence would have had no ability to question the prosecution. This delayed court date now means the defence team will be allowed to put forward a proper defensive case.
The family passed on the statement that was issued by the lawyer:
During today’s session, it had been scheduled for the prosecution witnesses to testify and be questioned by the defense, pursuant to the court’s previous order summoning them. It was also scheduled for the technical expert to be questioned regarding the technical reports submitted in the case.
However, the hearing did not include the testimony of the witnesses or the examination of the technical expert. The court therefore decided to adjourn the case until 6 September 2026, in order to hear the prosecution witnesses and the technical expert and allow their examination by the defense team.
The defense emphasizes that the examination of witnesses and experts constitutes one of the most important stages of a criminal trial, as it provides an opportunity to test the evidence presented in the case and assess its consistency with the facts established in the case file. It also enables the defendant to exercise his fundamental right to a defense and to challenge the evidence presented against him.
The defense team continues to take all necessary legal measures to protect the defendant’s rights and to ensure that the trial benefits from all guarantees provided by law and the Constitution.
Our office will continue to keep the public and interested human rights organizations informed of developments in the case with accuracy, professional commitment, and respect for the course of justice.
Issued on:
15 June 2026
Please continue to pray for our brother, Said Mansour Rezk Abdelrazek, as he is still held in prison while waiting for the next court date in September.

PRAISE GOD!! Continued prayer
