Last week, we received this story from our partners in Iran, bringing a testimony of God’s goodness and His mighty hand. This is what they shared with us.
Mohammad is a 26-year-old young man from a believing family. He had recently gotten married and had just begun building a life full of hope and promise. But during the December protests in Iran, he was arrested by government forces and taken to prison.
He was accused of a serious crime: setting government property on fire along with two others—something he had never done. Despite his innocence, all three were sentenced to death.
Throughout this time, Mohammad was denied access to a lawyer. His family, and all of us who share the same faith, stood firmly in prayer. Day and night, with tears and faith, we lifted his name before God.
Then yesterday, news came that changed everything. While the other two still face execution, Mohammad’s sentence was reduced to five years in prison. The judge in his case—known among prisoners as the “judge of death”—told him:
“I don’t know why you were not executed.”
But Mohammad knows why. He told his family: “This was nothing but a miracle from God.”Today, Mohammad has the possibility of being released on bail. What once seemed impossible has been miraculously changed.
Please remember to pray for our brothers and sisters in Iran.
