How a Dream from God Led Her to Travel to Cambodia with BTJ

Over the past few weeks, we at BTJ have had the chance to share the Vision of BTJ with both long-time supporters and folks who are still figuring out their path. On our last Vision trip to Cambodia, we met a lady named Amalia. She had a vision that told her she needed to join us on this journey – and like any good Christian, she followed that call. Here’s a bit of what she saw, with some extra details for context.

Amalia’s Testimony:

She shared that the Lord has communicated with her through numerous vivid dreams, many of which have materialized. Roughly two years ago, she had a dream where she was running. She felt compelled to run straight ahead towards an unknown destination at that time.

“People were running and walking, all headed to the same place. I attempted to catch a lift from passersby, but my requests were ignored. The mob maintained their frenzied pace towards that point until slowly, they vanished from view. Ultimately, I was left by myself, continuing my tireless chase along the same route.

“When I was alone, about half a mile away from the goal, I saw a monument. I stopped in my tracks. Suddenly, many colorful lights lit up, in and around the monument. I was in awe – the monument looked magnificent. The sight was beautiful, and then I noticed the monument began to slowly bow down to me, bowing three times in total. I felt no fear, just amazement, and then I awoke from my dream.

“I had never seen this monument before and didnt know what it was. So when I woke up, I thought it had been a strange dream because it was unfamiliar to me. I prayed and asked the Lord for an interpretation, but it seemed like He wasnt listening and I didn’t receive one.”

Amalia continued her story by telling us about last year:

So, this one time, at the end of last year, I was collecting my family’s mail. Normally, I don’t snoop around anyone’s mail but mine. But then I saw this Back to Jerusalem pamphlet addressed to my daughter. To be honest, I didn’t know much about the organization except that my daughter got these pamphlets now and then. Nothing really stood out about this one but something deep inside me just told me to open it – it was like a supernatural nudge telling me there was something in there for me to see. So, I opened it and started flipping through… and boom! There on the second page was the exact same monument from a dream I had – no kidding! “Holy smokes! This is that monument from my dream!”, I couldn’t help exclaiming out loud. It turned out to be Angkor Wat, a Hindu-Buddhist temple in Cambodia of all places!

“At that moment, I realized that the dream I had years ago was the Lord speaking to me. I shared the story with my daughter, explaining how I had finally discovered the monument from my dream. After I told her that I recognized the monument, my daughter applied on my behalf. She heard back and got accepted a week later, and that’s when I was surprised to find out that I was headed to Cambodia. I was pretty resistant, even up until a couple of weeks before the trip. However, looking back, I am amazed at how everything played out with God.”

This reminded us that we have the Spirit of the living God filling our bodies. Like the Ark of the Covenant, we contain God’s law, which is written on our hearts, and we are filled with Gods Spirit. In a similar way, the Angkor idol bowed down to Amalia three times.

However, during the trip, Amalia felt unwell and suffered from heat exhaustion, requiring her to be taken to the hospital. Many might view this as a failure, but as we say at BTJ, failure is an opportunity to be used by God. God intended for Amalia to be at the hospital because, as it turned out, she was able to share the Gospel with three nurses in Cambodia and pray with one of them. Additionally, her daughter shared the Gospel with three men, and one of them dedicated his life to the Lord. This shows that the Lord had a plan, using these events to save at least one soul. Just like the good shepherd who leaves the 99 to find the one lost sheep.

I am a Messianic Jewish believer that felt the tug of the L-rd towards the unreached. I decided I would go to China. My love for the Chinese people grew while I was there, but when I learned of the Back to Jerusalem movement, I knew the L-rd wanted me to be proclaiming His gospel message to the unreached people between China and Jerusalem. Let’s unite and complete the great commission. We need to accept the challenge Jesus has given us so that we can feel the exhilaration of victory.

…. ”that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.“
    ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬-‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

… Yes, even the idols and temples made by human hands will someday also “bow down” to the “Name of Jesus”.
