Why The Coronavirus Timing Matters

“Bu yao pa!” – Do not be afraid! – This was the message from Brother Yun in Germany this week as he started a video series on YouTube regarding the coronavirus.

Brother Yun speaks with authority and conviction about fear, because he knows what it is like to be faced with overwhelming circumstances and he knows what it is like to rescued by the Lord from the jaws of death. After being arrested, tortured, thrown into China’s maximum security prison, and having both of his legs smashed, Brother Yun had no reason to hope. He prayed for death, but God had other plans for his life.

Today, the coronavirus is stealing hope and replacing it with fear. The entire world seems to be going on lock down.

The timing is impeccable.

We are closer to completing the Great Commission than ever before. The final frontier of missions is directly in front of us and more missionaries are being sent out to these areas than ever before.

We can’t stop. We can NOT slow down. We must keep going.

A hundred years ago, more than 90% of the world’s Christians were located in Europe and America, and most missionaries were also from the same regions. Today a major shift has taken place and more than 60% of the world’s Christians are now located in Asia and Africa.

The Gospel is closing in. The enemy is worried.

Why is the enemy worried? Because in Matthew 24:14 Jesus tells us exactly when He will return and the end of time will take place, “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

Today, we are closer to this being a reality than ever before.

We can’t stop. We can NOT slow down. We must keep going.

The timing of the coronavirus is interesting as it is giving the enemy time to breathe. Christians are on lock-down. Missions has been halted. Many Christians are in panic because the crisis is hitting their home.

But this is not the time to be afraid. This is not the time to stop preaching. This is not the time to slow down. We are so incredibly close.

The coronavirus is a deadly disease that needs to be recognized. Faith is not ignorant, nor is it blind. Faith is knowing all of the dimensions of the threat and trusting in the Lord anyway. The enemy has been measured and has been found wanting.

Today there are more Chinese missionaries serving in unreached areas than all of the other nations combined. Brother Yun is just one of those believers that has come out of the fires of adversity and prepared for such a time as this.

Dr. Eugene Bach is a known trouble-maker with an active imagination and sinful past. He has a PhD, but is not a real doctor, so please do not call for him during a medical emergency on an airplane when someone is having a heart attack. Eugene started working for Back to Jerusalem in the year 2000 after a backroom deal involving Chinese spies, the NRA, Swiss bankers, and a small group of Apostolic Christians that only baptize in Jesus’ name. He spends most of his time in closed countries attempting to topple governments by proclaiming the name of Jesus and not taking showers. From time-to-time he pretends to be a writer. He is not good at it, but everyone around him tries to humor him.
