After a request for help with making electronic Bibles, we were able to form three international teams to man our ‘Sweatshop for Jesus’. This turned out to be a bit of a prophetic name, because the European summer so far has been unusually hot.
Last weekend, the first team arrived and they were able to assemble, program and test 400 devices in the first three days of work. One of the workers has a close connection to the country this first batch is going to. She shares stories of the challenges new believers face in this area, but also how she witnessed the Holy Spirit working powerfully on many occasions, feeling like it was similar to the book of Acts.
One of the other workers will hand-deliver the devices to the partnering local church after the sweatshop finishes. Meanwhile assembly for devices in another language has already started, and a third language is being prepared for yet another area.
Coming together like this, means you get to hear a lot of stories and get to discuss different perspectives on all kinds of issues. After all, you sit around a table with people all day, doing work that is quite repetitive.
You also have to learn new skills, and work around technical challenges that arise from the process. Often people are new to working with tiny components, and if you drop something, finding it can take a while. But all workers are putting their hearts into it and they have already done the work planned for a whole week in three days.
We want to ask you to pray for these coming weeks, for the people who are travelling, for protection for everyone involved, for wisdom for the lead-engineer to guide the process, for everyone to be a blessing to the others, as they give not only their time and skills, but also share their life stories, testimonies and ministry experiences. But mostly pray that these Bibles will safely get into the right hands, and bless the persecuted believers. That they may be built up and comforted through the word of God.
