Thailand is Flooding

Despite the apparent presence of missionaries in regions like Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai, Thailand remains largely unreached with the Gospel. Of the approximately 71.7 million people in the country, a staggering 88% belong to unreached groups, mostly Buddhists with deep-seated cultural and religious roots, and less than 1% have encountered the Gospel.

Currently, Chiang Mai faces its worst flooding in decades, leading to widespread destruction and significant loss. Thousands have lost everything, properties are damaged, and wildlife suffer. In this crisis, the call is urgent to support those impacted and pray for their relief, protection, and restoration.

This moment provides a vital opportunity to advance the Gospel amidst adversity. God calls His children to shine brightly, to warn, and to guide others towards salvation. The crisis highlights a critical chance for Christians to engage in humanitarian aid and spiritual outreach, standing with the local Christian community to display faith through actions, offering hope and connection.

In considering how we, as Christians, can turn this catastrophe into an opportunity for hope, David Joannes has been pivotal at Within Reach Global. By establishing a new base in Chiang Mai, they’re claiming enemy territory, ensuring an irrevocable ministry presence in this unreached part of the world. This step allows for increased outreach, enhancing Gospel access. During these trials, may we unite in prayer for the Thai people, that they see God’s grace and mercy, and may those affected find strength. Let’s also pray for His grace to reach more hearts across Thailand, bringing healing and hope.
