Mini-Series Podcast #3: Mao’s Little Red Book

Equality of outcome is totally repressive.
Many of the problems Mao put forward in this book are still present today. We need to remember that Mao Zedong’s Little Red Book points to real problems, but fails to solve them.
Mao Zedong was the first chairman of the Communist Party of China. Mao stated that his vision for China was to have an equal and just society with no poverty and no oppression. This sounds like something many believers would support. Unfortunately, Mao used his free speech to rise to power and stop all other free speech. Eugene discusses in the third episode how Mao accomplished the suppression of speech, how it was effective, and where it failed.
Defunding the police was something that Mao supported 60 years ago. As Ecclesiastics 1:9 says “…there is nothing new under the sun.” So, when Black Lives Matter starts praising Mao’s Little Red Book, we as believers need to pay attention. We need to understand that we don’t want justice. According to Romans 3:23 all have sinned, and if we got justice, what we deserve, we would have earned eternal separation and damnation (Romans 6:23).
