Here’s One Airport Where Missionaries Have NEVER Lost Their Luggage

Fewer people travel internationally more than missionaries, which means fewer people lose their luggage more than missionaries.

According to a recent report by BBC, nearly 26 million pieces of luggage were lost, delayed or damaged in 2022 alone. That is basically 50 bags per second.

However, there is one international airport that has never lost even one piece of luggage since they opened 30 years ago in 1994 – Kansai International Airport.

The artificial island airport in Osaka Bay maintains that it has kept a perfect record for the last three decades.

In case you have never heard of Kansai International Airport, it is important to note that it isn’t a small airport. In fact, it boasts the longest terminal in the world and with 32 million passengers per year and cargo freight of one million tons, it is the third busiest in Japan.

Flying 1,000 flights to Asian destinations every week, 59 to Europe and 80 to America, and serving as a hub for Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines, it provides a great layover for many mission destinations.

In 2020, it was voted one of the top ten airports in the world by Skytrax, including best airport staff in the world.

And for missionaries who might like the occasional video game, Kansai airport has the only “Nintendo Check In” in the world, where passengers can play video games at their Nintendo terminal for free. There is also a statue of Mario in the experience area, along with Super Mario Cappy caps from Super Mario Oyssey for you to take photos with.

Throughout the terminal, you walk to your flight, you can take additional photos with Nintendo characters like Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and many others all while knowing that your luggage will make it safely through the airport.
