Even though persecution increased in 2019 and China’s economy is going down, that has not stopped the growth of the church. In some ways, it might have actually fueled it.
Recently, a BTJ Pastor worked with two missionaries in Xinjiang Province and had a meal with a local imam. The two BTJ missionaries have built a special relationship with the imam and have even given a Bible to him as they told him about the salvation of Jesus Christ.
“He was very excited to receive the Bible,” the BTJ pastor reported. The pastor’s name cannot be share for security reasons.
It is extremely rare to get photos of these kind of activities in China today, but the missionary took the risk to share the important moment. Because of the work that the BTJ missionaries are doing together with the imam, they are seeing local Muslims come to Christ.
This year for the first time, we are also seeing an amazing break through in Tibet! Last year, BTJ missionaries carried out an illegal Christmas program and handed out gifts at several local schools. Through this effort, several workers that we are supporting in Tibet baptized 10 new believers and led 30 children to Christ!
In November of last year, BTJ was also able to gather several of the workers together in one place for training and encouragement. This was the first time that we were able to do that for more than five years.
Please continue to pray for the church in China as we see things continue to grow.
