Today is Father’s Day and anyone who knows anything about fathers knows that it is not easy to find a gift for them.
As a father and a grandfather, I know the last thing dads want is a tangible gift that needs to be wrapped up. We don’t want a tie or socks and we definitely do not want flowers.
What fathers love more than anything is information. More than ANYTHING we LOVE to be in the ‘know,’ – to discover something that no one else knows. That is why both AI and Google are dad’s best friend and worst enemy. We love knowing everything we can learn from AI and Google, but at the same time, hate that everyone else can learn from the same source!
That is why this year, I am going to give you a Father’s Day gift you can share with your dad that AI and Google can NOT give.
I am going to share with you several secrets from the underground house church in China that have been preserved for over 100 years and have never been known until now.
Anyone who has ever worked with the underground house church in China will understand that there are many different streams that represent the unofficial Chinese church, but there is one vision that unites them all and it is called “Back to Jerusalem” – a vision to complete the Great Commission by preaching the Gospel all the way back to where it all began in Jerusalem.
I thought everything that can be learned about the BTJ vision has been shared already, but I was wrong. Dead wrong!
I have worked with the house church in China for almost three decades and have written more about the subject than almost anyone else alive. Having earned my doctorates degree on researching the Back to Jerusalem vision, the subject has truly been my passion and my life’s work, but the last twelve months of research has changed everything!
In the last year, I have received four rare books that are only available in the Chinese language. They are the original writings of Chinese leaders who first shared the Back to Jerusalem vision. One pastor from Xinjiang Province risked his life this year to get me a book written by one of the original members of the North West Traveling Band – an evangelical group of Chinese Bible students that heard the call of God to take the Gospel to the Muslims in the far western regions of China.
“This might be the last copy left,” he said as he handed me the book in Shanghai this year. “All the other copies have been destroyed during the police raids that have increased this year in Xinjiang.”
The pastor from Xinjiang is one of the top leaders of a group known as the “Five Brothers,” a house church network of about four million believers. He, like so many Christians in China, has risked everything to preserve an important piece of Chinese Christian history that the enemy has tried so hard to destroy. I have been so incredibly thankful to receive the books that have come at great risk of life and health and forever grateful for those that diligently kept them safe for so many years.
These four books represent more than leisure reading. They represent hardship, risk, and sacrifice to keep the history of the Chinese church alive so that the true testimonies of what God has done can be shared with the future generations of Chinese missionaries.
After reading these four books, I now understand why the enemy wanted to destroy them. They reveal secrets that will change things that we thought we knew about the Chinese church forever.
The testimonies preserved in these books reveal information about the vision of God to the Chinese church that has never been shared before in the English language and cannot be found in the algorithms of searches on the internet.
That is why I have decided to translate them and publish them for a western audience in narrative form. I hope to retell stories and testimonies of what God did during the earliest days of the Chinese church that will reveal secrets of how God preserved the greatest missionary vision in the history of China.
But you do not have to wait for the books to come out to know what I discovered. I am sharing them now for your dad with the hopes that you will pass them on to him for Father’s Day.
In a series of blogs planned for THIS WEEK, I will share for the first time where the name Back to Jerusalem actually came from, who were the first BTJ missionaries, who was the first missionary to be killed by the Communist Party when they came to power, and who was the first to share about the BTJ vision with the west.
If your dad is like me and thinks he knows the answer, I promise he does not.
Surprise your dad this Father’s Day by sending him the link to this blog and tell him to be prepared to be surprised by what God is revealing to His church in China today, because what we will be sharing in the next couple of days will be full of information that can NOT be found anywhere else.

where is the link of the blog . what blog are we supposed to go to
They will be posted on our website this week
