2024 Elections Might Be the Most Dangerous in History BUT It’s Not Why You Think

The 2024 elections might be the most dangerous in history, not because of the candidates on the ballot, but because of what is happening in Munich today.

At the Munich Security Conference, five major technology companies have joined together with China’s TikTok to develop an agreement to “protect” the integrity of democratic elections.  This is a major concern for Christians who understand what this means and especially for those who were a part of the discussion for the 2024 BTJ Hackers Conference earlier this month.

BTJ Hackers learned a lot from the way the major technology companies reacted to the 2020 US election and the entire Covid-19 pandemic.  We were able to learn how technology companies shut down dissenters and how Christians could avoid it in the future.

In 2020, IT giants, in the name of public safety, attacked anyone who even asked the question of whether Covid-19 came from a Wuhan lab. Churches that stayed open were attacked.  Christians who continued meeting were targeted.

And who could forget Hunter Biden’s laptop?  The New York Post, one of the oldest newspapers in the US, was de-platformed in a matter of hours, even though their article turned out to be true.

There are many reasons Christians should be suspicious of any collaborative effort between China and big tech companies to “protect” anything.

“In a critical year for global elections, technology companies are working on an accord to combat the deceptive use of AI targeted at voters,” said a joint statement last week. “Adobe, Google, Meta, Microsoft, OpenAI, TikTok and others are working jointly toward progress on this shared objective and we hope to finalize and present details on Friday at the Munich Security Conference.”

This joint effort should immediately raise concerns for anyone paying attention, especially since the companies have declined to share details of what’s in the agreement. Who will decide what is fake and what is not? Who are the decision makers pulling the levers for all of this? No one knows these answers, but if TikTok is involved, that immediately means that China has a seat at the table.

2024 has been labeled the Ultimate Election Year because of the large number of elections, with 7 of the world’s 10 most populous nations, (Bangladesh, India, United States, Indonesia, Pakistan, Russia, and Mexico) voting.  Next year, significant elections will also be held in Canada and the EU. Collectively, these are countries that are home to about half of the world’s people holding elections in 2024 and one of the key players helping to provide security to ensure safe and fair elections is Communist China’s TikTok?

X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, wasn’t mentioned in the statement and seems to be the only platform that is not collaborating. Because of this, as the elections draw near, be prepared to hear more reports attacking X and the validity of the platform.
