World’s Deadliest Earthquake of 2018

More than 1,400 people died over the weekend when the deadliest earthquake of 2018 and ensuing tsunami hit the Indonesian island of Sulawesi.

The deadly tsunami hit the island with waves over 20 feet high.

1,400 bodies have been found, but the death count is expected to rise. Many people are still missing and reported to be trapped in collapsed buildings. Estimates put the total number of people affected at more than 2 million.

Of the top ten deadliest earthquakes in 2018, four of them have hit Indonesia.

Currently there are more than 200,000 people or 60% of the local population in urgent need of immediate assistance. People are desperate for food and water. More than 65,000 people have lost their homes, and hundreds are injured. Bridges have been destroyed, roads are blocked, and telecommunications are down. Mass graves are being dug to avoid the spread of disease.

BTJ is working to get immediate aid to the disaster area to provide food, shelter, and clothing. We are partnering together with local churches to get the aid to the most devastated areas.

Please pray for those suffering in Indonesia and kindly consider joining with us to to show the love of God during this tragedy.

He has a PhD, but is not a real doctor, so please do not call for him during a medical emergency on an airplane when someone is having a heart attack. Eugene started working for Back to Jerusalem in the year 2000 after a backroom deal involving Chinese spies, the NRA, Swiss bankers, and a small group of Apostolic Christians that only baptize in Jesus’ name. He spends most of his time in closed countries attempting to topple governments by proclaiming the name of Jesus and not taking showers. From time-to-time he pretends to be a writer. He is not good at it, but everyone around him tries to humor him.
