Deadly floods have smashed southern Afghanistan in the last three days with a death toll of at least 39 people and help is urgently needed. To add pressure to the situation, temperatures have dropped below freezing and blizzard like conditions are predicted. Quick action is needed.
The massive floods swept through multiple regions in Helmand Province, including the capital city Lashkar Gah.
“The number of people that have died is not completely known because there is so much panic and chaos in the area,” a local BTJ partner shared by text message.
