Greetings, BTJ family! You are in for a real treat as you read the various articles in this newsletter that touch the world.

But for this article, we would like to speak pastorally. Let us start with a wonderful verse from Eph. 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ FOR GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD PREPARED BEFOREHAND SO THAT WE WOULD WALK IN THEM.” These works are not for salvation but rather they flow out of our Father’s work of salvation through His marvelous grace.

In eternity past, Father prepared “good works” for us to live out in our daily lives through His indwelling Presence. We are to live our lives with purpose and intentionality…glorifying God and making a difference in this world. In order for this to happen, there are four progressive truths which will enable us to accomplish this:

-Know God

“…that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him” (Eph. 1:17). We must be born again and daily live in complete dependence upon Him.

-Find freedom

“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened…” (Eph. 1:18), “and you will know the truth and the truth will make you free.” (John 8:32)

-Discover your purpose

“…so that you will know what is the hope of His calling…” (Eph. 1:18). We are saved “on” purpose “for” a purpose. “For I know the plans that I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.” (Jer. 29:11)

-Make a difference

“…what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints…” (Eph. 1:18). “In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to His purpose who works all things after the counsel of His will…” (Eph. 1:11) People are the inheritance of our Lord (Ps. 2). Thus, we are all about people. Living life through His good works will make a difference in people coming to know our dear Savior and soon-coming King!

What a marvelous calling and privilege! Choose 24/7 to live life on purpose and make a difference!!
