How is Israel helping with the search and rescue operations in Turkey and Syria?
The Israelis are usually one of the first groups on the ground; they appear when help is needed. Unfortunately, diplomatic ties have been rocky with Turkey and they are literally at war with Syria.
Israel has postponed those issues for another day, and they have sent relief to both Turkey and Syria!
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (Bibi) knows this, as the military has named it “Operation Olive Branch.” They chose this name because the olive branch is symbolic of peace. Nobody wants to see the devastation that has caused over 20,000 people to die, even those declared as enemies.
Let us continue to pray that those stranded in the collapsed buildings will be found. Remember that this world is not our home; huddling in our man-made houses will not keep us safe.
This reminds me of the parable of the Good Samaritan. In this parable, Jesus tells of how the priest and the righteous rulers thought that the man was defiled and not worthy of their help. Fortunately, a Samaritan arrived, showing compassion for the beaten man and helping him. Let us be like the good Samaritan and show compassion to those in need of help.
May the compassion that God has for us spread to all nations, so that those in Turkey and Syria receive rescue workers, tents, medication, and blankets. If you would like to help, please click the link below to donate 100% of your contribution to those in need in Turkey and Syria:
