Chasing Revival Bible Study

“The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”—Mark Twain
- Why does revival matter?
- Why would anyone want to experience it?
- Isn’t it enough to be saved and know that we have been given eternal salvation?
- Does revival make us any more saved?
- Does revival give us bonus points?
Maybe there is something more to be found in revival than mere salvation. Maybe we were meant for something more, but what is it?
In July, BTJ is releasing our very first home Bible study series called “Chasing Revival.”
Unlike other Bible studies, we tackle difficult questions about the spread of Christianity without providing absolute answers that are not in the Bible. This Bible study does not ask leading questions that arrive at easy predestined answers. Instead, it provides a journey in the footsteps of revival that challenges our beliefs and confronts our bias.
The Chasing Revival Bible Study Series follows the continuation of a revival movement that started two thousand years ago in Jerusalem when Jesus gave the command known as the Great Commission.
We attempt to follow the movement of the Gospel message from its genesis to the present day so we can learn how God has moved in His people throughout history. Each section of this study will focus on the historical spread of Jesus’ message and how that pertains to Biblical teaching, and compare that to what we are seeing in the world today.
Each section in this study will show how Jesus is relevant to answering the basic problems of the past and present, and why it is vital to carry out the command of the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:19–20:
“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Chasing Revival is a great group Bible study tool to have in your home or church to challenge your faith and promote education through debate. Learn what role persecution has played in revival throughout history. Delve into what the past challenges have been with pride, ego-centric teachings, violence, perversion of Scripture, and promiscuous and homosexual lifestyles.
Explore the revival that is being experienced today in China and see why BTJ is pushing so hard to complete the Great Commission by praying for revival in the final frontier of missions: the nations between China and Jerusalem.

Praise God for reaching into hearts and bringing them to the knowledge of the Truth. Let us pursue this study, in full faith and obedience to Jesus Christ. Colossians 1:9-14 Amen
Maybe we in the West we need to close up the churches and start home churches instead, as the churches seem so often to be content with playing church and making money to play more church.
