Brother Yun Shares His Secret to Starting Each Day

Brother Yun believes that it is extremely important how Christians begin each day.

Think about your own life every morning – your alarm startles you to life long before daylight. Though your feet haven’t hit the floor, your mind is already running toward the events of the day – meetings, errands, obligations. There are places to go and tasks to accomplish. Next comes the morning routine. Shower. What’s for breakfast? What should you wear? Where do you need to be at 9am? The wheels are spinning and they’re carrying you away. Sound familiar?

Brother Yun knows well God’s faithfulness to care for us in all the details of life. His simple and profound instruction gives us practical ways to begin each day and opens a door for us to stay above the chaos of this world.

While we don’t have to work to become slaves to our routines, it takes concerted effort to break free of them. If we are not careful, we can get so caught up in the temporal things of life that they suffocate us and we forget we are part of a much bigger story. By the grace of God and the Word of God, we can reorder our days and reclaim the abundant life that the world is so quick to steal away from us.

This is why I tell you to never be worried about your life, for all that you need will be provided, such as food, water, clothing—everything your body needs. Isn’t there more to your life than a meal? Isn’t your body more than clothing? “Look at all the birds—do you think they worry about their existence? They don’t plant or reap or store up food, yet your heavenly Father provides them each with food. Aren’t you much more valuable to your Father than they? -Matt. 6:25-26 TPT

My Bible is my compass. Every morning I need to use my compass to find true north. To not have and use this Holy compass is to walk in circles and stay lost.
