Most people have heard by now of the violence and protests in the streets of Iran, but few have heard of the revivals that are taking place there.
Iran is experiencing an unprecedented and explosive spiritual revival and it’s showing no signs of slowing down. With over a million people converting from Islam to Christianity, Iran has seen more new Christians today than at any time in the last 1,000 years.
Despite all of the violence and severe persecution by the Islamic regime, Christianity is growing so fast that 50,000 of Iran’s 75,000 mosques have shut down, due to lack of attendance.
As the revival fires of Iran burn white hot, the need for Bibles is greater than ever. This year, BTJ has received an unprecedented request to print and distribute the most illegal book in Iran – the Bible. The request is for at least half a million Bibles to be smuggled and distributed inside the country! This will be a huge task to undertake, but we believe God will guide us as we navigate this. This shocking request comes from long time partners that BTJ has been working with inside the country and comes at a time of growing turmoil.
The demand for the Bible is just another indicator that the Holy Spirit is on the move in Iran. For generations, Iranians have been forcefully indoctrinated by the Quran, but today there is a desire to learn more about the forbidden book, the Bible.
“We have been waiting for Bibles for years,” says one underground house church member inside the country.
BTJ is continuously distributing Bibles inside Iran. You can help print and distribute Bibles in nations like Iran.
