It has been almost a year since 23 believers and pastors from Zion Church were first detained. Eight still remain incarcerated, living in poor conditions, not being allowed to communicate with family members, and continually having their rights violated by the Chinese government.
Founding Zion Church Pastor, Ezra Jin Mingri, who was released this past July, described the prison’s living conditions and food as being very bad. He said that there were around 30 people living in a tight space, without any freedom. He also said that they were mainly allowed to just sit on stools and had to raise their hands to ask for permission to even walk around. Additionally, he added that all of their communications were cut off.
Pastor Jin also stated that the Chinese society is a totalitarian society and thus, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is in charge of everything. In addition to Christians, he said that other people including ethnic minorities, people with various religious beliefs, and even some opinionated people and independent intellectuals are facing tremendous pressure in China, including oppression.
This explains why the remaining eight leaders from Zion Church continue to have their rights violated, such as being illegally indicted and experiencing violations by the Chinese authorities of Articles 261 and 262 of the Rules of Criminal Procedure of the People’s Procuratorate.
Please pray for the remaining eight imprisoned pastors and co-workers; and their families: Wang Lin, Yin Huibin, Gao Yingjia, Wang Cong, Wu Qiuyu, Wang Zhong, Lin Shucheng, and Liu Zhenbin.
