Saving the Lives of Mothers and Babies

Maternal and newborn death is a tragic reality for many.

Women in less developed countries have, on average, more pregnancies and a greater risk of death due to pregnancy. Every day, approximately 800 women die due to avoidable complications arising from pregnancy and childbirth. Furthermore, in 2019, approximately one million newborns died within the first 24 hours.

Research has found that the top ten countries with the highest number of newborn deaths are India, Nigeria, Pakistan, Ethiopia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, China, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and the United Republic of Tanzania. Our partners in Afghanistan have reported this is a pressing problem inside the country right now.

Infection is one of the leading causes for both maternal and neonatal deaths. Therefore, provision of clean, safe delivery is the first step to eliminate infection and prevent a significant proportion of these deaths.

We have developed bespoke sterile delivery kits, tailored to directly meet the needs encountered by the women giving birth in these less developed countries in order to minimize risks and complications impacting the lives of both mother and infant.

Sterile Delivery Kit Contents:

The aim is not just to create the kits, but also distribute them in regions where women do not have access to safe and sterile equipment. We leverage a wide network of partners to distribute these kits where they will be able to provide the greatest impact.
