Music has long been a source of comfort and inspiration during times of hardship and tragedy. In the Bible, it is often an expression of a soul longing for God. Music moves the heart, stirs the soul, lifts the spirit, and draws us into the presence of God. In Psalm 21:13, King David proclaims“With music and singing we celebrate your mighty acts.”
For Christians, music isn’t just entertainment, but is central to the life of God’s people and an integral part of God’s design for worship, so when we see the persecution that is taking place in China today, it should come as no suprise that the hardship is inspiring original songs of worship.
Zion underground house church was raided by police last month and 30 pastors and leaders were arrested and taken to black prisons, but the church members who were left behind used their voices to worship the Lord in the midst of the trial.
Here is a a song that they have written to worship the Lord and remember their brothers and sisters during this time.
This song cannot be shared in China, because it is illegal, but here you can listen to it and read the words.
