Women in Afghanistan have no voice. Even quite literally, their voices are not allowed to be heard in public. The official reason is that hearing a female voice might tempt a man to sin. But perhaps it is really because the women’s voices would plead for justice, would cry out for food for their children, would beg for their daughters to be allowed to go to school. And maybe, because a growing number of these woman would proclaim salvation in the name of Christ.
Below is a beautiful testimony from an Afghani sister. Be encouraged about what God is doing and pray the voice of her testimony may bring light to many!
Hello to all dear ones.
My name is Sarah, and I live in Afghanistan. I want to share a story with you —a story that brought a deep and sweet transformation to my life. My journey of faith in Christ.
My life in Afghanistan was filled with challenges, social pressures, and a restrictive environment. From childhood, as an Afghan Muslim woman, I faced many expectations and limitations. While I dreamed of pursuing my hopes, I felt as though there was no path for me.
Gradually, in my search for truth and meaning, I met friends who were helping people and speaking about Christianity. At first, I listened cautiously because I had grown up with the teachings of the Quran and Islam, and my heart wasn’t ready for change.
But my curiosity grew, and I wanted to learn more about Jesus from these brothers. They introduced me to the Gospel. As I began to read, certain truths about Jesus Christ caught my attention — His love, forgiveness, and sacrifice for others deeply touched my heart.
One night, while praying and seeking peace, I felt in my heart that Christ had drawn closer to me. Despite all the hopelessness and obstacles, I decided to believe in Jesus. This decision was incredibly difficult and risky for me, but suddenly, I felt embraced by God’s endless love.
Since then, little by little, my life has changed after coming to faith in Christ. I experienced a deep peace and joy that I had never felt before. My friends and family couldn’t understand this change at first, but now I proudly say that Jesus Christ is my Savior, and His love flows through my heart.
Now, as a Christian, alongside a group of devoted servants of the Lord I not only continue my new life, but I also share hope and love with others. I want everyone to know that Jesus Christ is the light of life and the way to salvation. I encourage all of you to seek the truth and the endless love of God so that together we may proclaim the Good News and make disciples of Christ.
May the light of our faith shine in this dark world, so that the light of Christ may radiate forever. Amen, Amen.
