Viral Video Reveals How Bad Chinese Economy Really Is

A food delivery person in Ningbo posted a video venting about the Chinese economy and it is going viral.

“Stop saying if you’re unemployed, just deliver food,” the woman says in the video. “There are no orders. Except lunch peak, you swipe for hours and get nothing. Deliveries are faster now because hundreds of riders are flying solo, empty-handed.”

One of the reasons why her video is going viral is because the unemployment levels in China have exploded. China’s National Bureau of Statistics says youth unemployment was 16.9% in March 2026.

Unfortunately, the real story is much darker.

According to an economist professor from Shanghai who spoke to BTJ recently, China is hiding the real numbers. The unemployment numbers most likely only count urban areas and include those who work just one hour a month like food delivery drivers.

In 2021, while the world was pushing for extreme lockdowns like the one in China while simultaneously praising the Chinese economy, BTJ wrote that the reports were wrong and misleading. On the ground, it was clear that the international reports were not reporting the truth.

Now, the situation is undeniable and China is finally admitting its slowest economic growth in almost three decades.

What is truly tragic is that while the economy continues to take a nose dive, the CCP in Beijing continues to focus on persecuting Christians. For reasons that cannot be fully understood, China has decided to focus on stripping citizens of their religious freedom rather than increasing trade.

Six years ago, China admitted that more than 40% of their population live on less than $141 USD per month. Today that percentage is likely much higher and the amount is much lower as the viral video seems to indicate.
