A new report has been released documenting an increase in crackdowns on Christians in Iran and massive escalation of persecution on Bible distribution.
While it would seem that the Iranian regime has a lot to concern itself with while fighting for survival in a war against Israel and America, they are actually using their resources against a foe that they find much more dangerous.
They are trying to stop the Bible from getting to their people.
The Islamic extremists leading Iran do not fear death for themselves or their people. In many ways, they are suicidal, but what they do fear is a transformation of the soul which is why Iran is taking steps to stop the distribution of Bibles during this time of conflict.
The Bible is their greatest fear.
Two Iranian Christians have been convicted under Article 500 of Iran’s penal code for engaging in what authorities described as the “propaganda activity of deviant Christian ‘Zionist’ beliefs opposed to the system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.” More specifically they were charged under Articles 22 and 24 on charges of distributing “smuggled goods”, a reference to Bibles.
They were sentenced to 10 years in prison.
There are reports that Bible distributors in Iran are being hunted and imprisoned. They have been labeled as the “enemy within.” Just recently, Iran shut down the oldest Protestant church in the nation with the hopes of stopping one of the largest revivals in the world.
During this time of increased persecution, there is a growing need for Bibles in Iran. Christians inside have been begging for Bibles and this is why BTJ is working to get Bibles into the country.
Your help is desperately needed to get these Bibles into Iran.
There are two ways you can help get Bibles into the hands of Iranian believers today.
First, you can donate directly to the campaign by clicking here and sending Bibles to Iran by clicking on the link below.
Secondly, you can become a GateKeeper. GateKeepers are more than donors. They are partners that join the underground house church to help provide direct support on a monthly basis. For as little as $25 USD per month, you can help BTJ get Bibles into places like Iran and support the workers of the underground house church.
