More than 7,000 Christians have been killed in Nigeria during the first 220 days of 2025 alone and there is not a peep about in mainstream media, however a very unlikely public figure has finally broken the silence – Bill Maher.
Bill Maher is an American comedian, actor, television host, and political commentator. He is popularly known for his support of recreational drugs and his HBO political talk show Real Time with Bill Maher. Bill Maher is not a Christian, however, he is one of the few voices sounding the alarm on what is happening in Nigeria.
The number of Christians killed this year is already more than double the 3,100 Christians that were killed last year.
Bill Maher feels that the situation in Nigeria being ignored because ‘the Jews aren’t involved.’ He argues that the killing of Christians in Nigeria is “so much more of a genocide attempt than what is going on in Gaza.”
Nigeria is seeing an average of 35 killings a day, according to the recent report published by the Nigeria-based human-rights NGO International Society for Civil Liberties and the Rule of Law (Intersociety).
The crisis continues to grow as more than three million Christians are held hostage by vicious Islamic terrorists and a Nigerian government that appears to do nothing to stop it.
Bill Maher is a big name in entertainment. Hopefully his voice begins to break through into the mainstream media to raise the alarm about what is happening to Christians in Nigeria.
