Over the weekend at the Voice of the Persecuted meeting in Oxford, Brother Yun wore a pair of shoes that he hasn’t worn in many years. They were shoes he was wearing when he sat in solitary confinement at the Zhengzhou maximum security prison when God told him to get up and walk out.
While at the maximum security prison in Zhengzhou, Brother Yun had been tortured, starved, had both of his legs broken, and knew that there was no earthly way that he would ever be able to walk again, BUT when God spoke, something supernatural happened.
Listening to the voice of God, Brother Yun stood up and walked out of prison.
More than 27 years later, Brother Yun is still the only human being to have ever escaped from China’s Zhengzhou maximum-security prison. Brother Yun does not have any photos to remember that special day, but he does have the shoes.
These shoes remind him of a special time when God showed him that He truly can use every situation for the good of those that love Him (Romans 8:28).
God used the difficult time in prison to open opportunities for Brother Yun that he never thought possible. His shoes are a reminder of that.
