Iranians are taking to the streets as Israel continues to launch strikes against Iran, but it is not for the reasons that you think.
Videos are being posted from inside Iran showing Iranians rejoicing at the attacks. This might seem odd at first to see citizens celebrate attacks on their own nation, but what most of the world does not know is that Iranians feel like prisoners in their own country. Unrest has been bubbling up for years.
Above video obtained from X, shows how Iranians outside of Tehran are stopped in tunnel as the city is being attacked by Israel and instead of fear, they are showing signs of rejoicing.
In the video above, large crowds feel brave enough to come out into the streets in large numbers after Israel’s attacks. Instead of fear, there seems to be an overwhelming feeling of hope.
In another shocking video, Iranians, at what seems to be a restaurant, rejoice as they see the Iranian Islamic regime get pounded by Israel airstrikes. It is interesting to note how they do not feel fearful for their own lives as they seem to understand that Israel is not indiscriminately targeting civilians, but have strategically focused on Islamic leaders.
Many Iranian Christians have been sending requests to BTJ asking for prayer – for the nation of Israel! Many have heard the pleas from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who posted a video yesterday speaking directly to the people of Iran saying, “Today I wish to speak to you – the proud people of Iran…the Islamic regime which has oppressed you for nearly 50 years…and as we complete our objectives, we also clear a path for you to achieve your objectives which is freedom.”
Israel’s Prime Minister has a direct audience to a large number of Iranians that are listening. Last month alone, in May 2025 at least 493 protests were recorded in Iran spanning cities and towns across the country! These demonstrations reflect widespread frustration across different segments of society—including women, truck drivers, retirees, bakers, workers, educators, farmers, and more.
In 1979, Islamic leaders used wealth disparity as a tool to promise the people free access to education, healthcare, good jobs, and even free gasoline for their cars! Once the ayatollahs gained power, they immediately shut down dissent, executed their opponents, and brought a level of control over the country as had never been seen.
Today many Iranians see themselves as prisoners. Few have been persecuted more than Irans Christians. This is evidenced through the Iranian regimes torture of one of their own, Brother Abdull, who was a grandson of an ayatollah and gave his life in jihad fighting for the nation of Iran. When he made a decision to give his life to Jesus, he was brutally tortured and sentenced to death. His amazing testimony can be found in the book JIHAD: THE DAY I DIED.
Details about how Iranians are experiencing the world’s largest revival in the Islamic world can be found in BTJ’s newest book JESUS IN IRAN.
