Reports from Inside China

Isaiah 62:6-7
On your walls, O Jerusalem, I have appointed watchmen;
All day and all night they will never keep silent.
You who remind the Lord, take no rest for yourselves;
And give Him no rest until He establishes
And makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth.
We need to be in deep intercessory prayer for our Chinese brothers and sisters who are living in China. It appears that the enemy is starting to get concerned about the Chinese church and wants to use pandemic issues to heighten his control of the population. Unfortunately, this has caused a lot of damage which is not being mentioned anywhere. As a matter of fact, yesterday I was sent a video from a friend in Xinjiang, China. In this video there were people crying out for help, because their 16 story apartment building was on fire and they couldn’t escape. They were yelling that their doors had been welded shut and the people in the streets were yelling out to help the people. Unfortunately, nobody came to the people’s rescue and they all perished.
This morning another believer contacted me and said that she needed prayers, because her family is trapped and there is no way out as their apartment door, keeping with a zero-Covid policy, was welded shut. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ who are living under this policy – as my Chinese friend said, “this is serious.”
On a completely different note, and acknowledging that God is Sovereign, another friend of mine, Bob Fu, posted a message praising the Lord that He is using persecution to strengthen the body of Messiah: A Christian lady from Covenant House Church in Henan province was asked by the police when the church was raided recently, “When did you start loving your Lord so passionately?” The sister said, “I only began to love the Lord passionately after you arrested me. When the shackles wore out my feet, I realized a little bit how much Christ had paid for me.” Although the suffering remains, the brothers and sisters were no longer afraid, but were very joyful, released, and do not despise the brothers and sisters whose faith had become weakened (out of persecution).
Please pray for the Chinese people, because they are all made in the image of our Heavenly Father. We need to be interceding for the needs of others. Intercessory prayer reflects God’s own character of love and mercy. Let’s be watchman on the wall interceding and standing in the gap for others.
