Years of prayers for Christians in Nigeria have been partially answered as U.S. President Donald Trump posted on Friday, acknowledging that believers face extreme persecution in Nigeria.
This is a direct answer to prayer.
For years, the world has remained silent about the ongoing number of Christians killed by Muslims in Nigeria every year. For years, BTJ has been joining the church in Nigeria to raise awareness, but for the most part, those pleas have fallen on deaf ears until now.
Yesterday, the leader of arguably the most powerful nation in the world, finally spoke out about the threat to Christians in Nigeria and added the African nation to a State Department watch list.
This is a massive shift from the general apathy that the world has viewed the crisis with up to this point.
“Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria. Thousands of Christians are being killed. Radical Islamists are responsible for this mass slaughter,” Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social yesterday.
Nigeria’s Muslim president has done nothing to stop the violence against Christians, but now that his country has been put on a list as a nation of concern, he is finally acknowledging the problem. Hopefully this is the first step to compel the government of Nigeria to actually do something.

– But that is the least of it. When Christians, or any such group, is slaughtered like is happening in Nigeria (3,100 versus 4,476 Worldwide), something must be done! I am asking Congressman Riley Moore, together with Chairman Tom Cole and the House Appropriations Committee, to immediately look into this matter, and report back to me. The United States cannot stand by while such atrocities are happening in Nigeria, and numerous other Countries. We stand ready, willing, and able to save our Great Christian population around the World!
