Heavy floods are smashing North Korea and destroying desperately needed food supplies. Just before the harvest season, the floods could not have come at a worst time.
North Korean state media said on Wednesday that recent heavy rains destroyed over 4,100 houses, 7,410 acres of agricultural fields and numerous other public buildings, structures, roads and railways were flooded in the northwestern city of Sinuiju and the neighboring town of Uiju.
North Korea’s Socialist dictator, Kim Jong Un, has blamed the flooding on “climate change.”
BTJ is working in North Korea to try and get aid to the people in the disaster area.
