I understand that what you are doing is to help disadvantaged women but it is not Biblical and I believe that it is not pleasing to God to promote the Christmas tree or Santa Claus who come from a pagan legend. or other things like that, decorations around the house, these are done by people in the world who do not know God and we should not take part in the unfruitful works of darkness at all, but rather condemn them. May the Lord enlighten you and give you wisdom in what you do to do for His glory and not for the glory of vain things. The birth of the Lord must be proclaimed and how He died for our sins, not to promote the spirit of Christmas.

    1. Never was there a greater gift to mankind than the birth of Jesus Christ and His eventual crucifixion on the cross. If Christians choose not to remember the birth of Christ, there is no salvation lost but to condemn those that do celebrate it is reminiscent to Mark 9:38-41 in the most disappointing manner.

Christmas is the single most evangelical time of year to share Light with the world of darkness with or without Santa Claus, or western decorations. We wrote a book about it called Christmas in China. Though the meaning of Christmas is NOT found in western trimmings, those that oppose it as purely a pagan practice do not understand the victorious nature or the true history of one of the greatest missionary cross cultural victories ever accomplished. Perhaps too many Christians know more about the history of pagan religions and less about the missionaries that transformed them. Their missionary victories were truly in the footsteps of Paul at Mars Hill, in the spirit of Abraham in Salem, and in honor of the martyrs of the disciples in Rome, Africa, and India. We’d do well not to cede these victories to a religious spirit.

If the Lord gives us energy, let us use it to reach the lost, not to oppose other believers that do.
      Eugene
