Persecution of Christians in Iran is a daily occurrence. This month, three former Muslims were sentenced to a total combined sentence of 40 years for choosing to follow Jesus Christ. One of the prisoners is pregnant with her first child.
Narges Nasri, Abbas Soori and Mehran Shamloui were informed on May 7th that they had five days to turn themselves in to the brutally notorious Evin Prison to start serving prison time for converting to Christianity.
Narges, Abbas and Mehran were among at least 13 arrested as part of a coordinated campaign to raid secret churches and arrest Farsi-speaking Christians. Christianity is growing so quickly in Iran that the leaders are looking for a way to suppress it.
Narges is pregnant with her first child. Under Islamic law, she was sentenced to 10 years.
