In a frank and straight forward interview on CNN, Iranian journalist Masih Alinejad shares exactly why the protests in Iran this time are different.
“When people go to the streets,” Masih says, “they show their face and even take to their own social media,” revealing that they are no longer afraid of the government.
Today marks the two week point of the riots in Iran and there doesn’t seem to be any sign of slowing down. Iranians are bolder than ever and there are clear signs why this time is different.
According to Mashi this time is different because of the American President, Donald Trump. “We have seen six major uprisings in Iran. “When people were in the streets chanting ‘Obama! Obama!’ Obama was sending secret letters to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic. In 2022, women took to the streets. ‘Women like freedom!’ – one of the most progressive slogans. And what happened?” Hashi asked the CNN host Jake Tapper. “President Biden was handing out billions of dollars to the same regime that hired killers to target US citizens on US soil. [The Biden Administration] even asked me to go into witness protection. I mean it’s a joke!”
But Mashi feels that this time is different because the US president has declared that he is “willing to save the lives of Iranians.”
BTJ’s book, Jesus in Iran, shares exactly why there is unrest in the streets of Tehran today and why the church is an integral part in the future of the nation. The book reveals the amazing way that God is moving in Iran and how it is changing the geopolitical landscape in the Middle East.
