Iranian Family is Asking for Your Prayers for Their Sick Child

Having a child with cancer is a terrifying thing for any parent. You don’t know if your child will live to grow up into an adult. You also have to watch them suffer pain, undergo invasive treatments, lose their hair and see their bodies become weaker from both the disease and the treatment. There is so little you can do as a parent, except cling to Jesus and ask him for mercy on your child.

But what if your life was difficult to begin with? What if you were a persecuted minority in a majority Muslim nation? What if you had just lost your job and income and medicines are getting more expensive by the day? What if you can’t afford the nourishing foods your child needs to pull through the ravages of chemotherapy? And if on top of that your country is being bombed daily, and at any time the hospital could be hit by rockets or falling debris?

This is the situation for the parents of a little boy in Iran. They are believers and their son is fighting for his life, but they can no longer provide what he needs to fight that fight. Through our contacts on the ground in Iran, we have been sending help, so he can perhaps have a chance to grow up. But he will need more than money.

The parents are asking you to pray for their son. Pray that God will bring relief in the extremely difficult situation they are facing as a family. Pray that the treatment he is getting may be effective. Pray that God will touch the whole family with his peace and protect them from harm. Pray that Amir may be able to recover. Pray that the father can find another source of income.

The family needs not just one miracle, but many. So please remember this family today, and whenever you read in the news about Iran, think of them too.
