Naghmeh Panahi is known as the heroic wife who her fought to get her now ex-husband out of an Iranian prison. She was an underground house church leader, mother of two, pastor’s wife, and strong advocate for religious freedom, but what no one knew was that Naghmeh was carrying a dark secret of extreme abuse.
No one knew that her husband, one of the most famous Christian icons in the world during the time that he was suffering for his faith in an Iranian prison, had been abusing his wife physically, mentally, spiritually, and sexually.
Naghmeh had been taught that Scripture required her to be a submissive wife and place the sanctity of marriage above the safety of her family, until one day a Pastor shared with her the true love of Christ and the freedom that He gives to the abused.
Once Naghmeh started to open up about the abuse that she had been enduring, Christian leaders and ministries quickly tried to hide the information and sweep it under the rug, but now for the first time, Naghmeh is telling her story together with BTJ in the new book MINDFIELD, due to be released early next year.
Naghmeh tells the story of an extremely abusive marriage in ministry and how God set her free. She reveals the inconvenient truth about the way things are hidden to protect income sources for large ministries and how God was able to help her navigate her way out, so that she could help others who are being abused.
Before the release of her book, MINDFIELD, Naghmeh will be speaking at a BTJ conference in Dallas, Texas, on October 22-23.
