How 1 MILLION Bibles Were Smuggled into China in Just One Night

On the evening of June 18th, 1981, the barge Gabriella arrived on China’s shore carrying 1 million Bibles.

Despite Mao’s destruction of thousands of Bibles during the Cultural Revolution of the 1960s and 1970s, the Chinese church experienced an expansion in numbers.

A Chinese Christian woman, known as Mama Kwang, initiated Project Pearl due to her husband’s imprisonment for their beliefs. Mama Kwang and her husband had established a house church network and sought help from Open Doors to meet their urgent need of gaining access to Bibles.

Brother Andrew, known as Gods Smuggler and the founder of Open Doors, gave his staff members a green light. They knew God would allow them to reach China by sea, and that everything had to be done with utmost secrecy.

Learn what motivated the senders and receivers of this historical mission from God by watching the short below:

I am a Messianic Jewish believer that felt the tug of the L-rd towards the unreached. I decided I would go to China. My love for the Chinese people grew while I was there, but when I learned of the Back to Jerusalem movement, I knew the L-rd wanted me to be proclaiming His gospel message to the unreached people between China and Jerusalem. Let’s unite and complete the great commission. We need to accept the challenge Jesus has given us so that we can feel the exhilaration of victory.
