Hackers & Ambassadors

Looking Back on the BTJ Hackers Conference & Ambassadors Meeting
Back to Jerusalem is a vision, not an organization. It is the vision God gave to the Chinese Church to take the Gospel from China back to where the Great Commission began: Back to Jerusalem. This area between China and Jerusalem, known also as the 10/40 window, contains the most unreached nations of the world. Therefore, Back to Jerusalem is a vision that is embraced and carried out by many organizations and churches around the world, working to support the missionary efforts of the Chinese Church.
That said, BTJ has been serving the Chinese Church for more than twenty years by articulating the vision through speaking tours with Brother Yun and other representatives of the persecuted church, and by channelling resources to needs in the field. God has blessed and multiplied these efforts such that BTJ now has offices in the USA, Canada, the UK, the Netherlands, Poland and Brazil. Once a year, these offices get together for a weekend of sweet fellowship, prayer, and brainstorming.
One of the fruits of this meeting is the Back to Jerusalem Carrying Fire into the Dark Workshop. Have you ever wished for a concise explanation of the Back to Jerusalem vision, either for yourself, or to explain to others? Well, look no further! On the Back to Jerusalem Workshop webpage you will find concise and powerful presentations for both adults and youth.
Immediately following the meeting of the BTJ offices was the fifth annual BTJ Hacker’s Conference. Imagine a room full of “Jesus Geeks” gathered for fellowship, prayer, dreaming, and implementation of technologies and strategies for believers in closed countries.
The three general goals of each year’s conference are:
- To provide access to the Word of God where it is forbidden
- To assist believers to gather and/or communicate where it is forbidden
- To provide tools for evangelism in places where that is forbidden
While the challenges faced by believers in closed nations are daunting and ongoing, the Hacker’s Conference has produced some brilliant technological helps. Many more projects are in the wings. If this kind of thing inspires you, and you have some geeky skills (not just programming) you would like to offer for the expansion of the Kingdom of God, the BTJ Hacker’s Conference is always open to new participants. The application process for the 2024 conference opens this summer and will be announced on the backtojerusalem.com website.
