VOICES OF THE PERSECUTED CHURCH CONFERENCE 2024

What can we learn from the persecuted church? What lessons do they have to teach us? How can we prepare for the coming days of persecution?

BTJ is hosting a VOICES OF THE PERSECUTED CHURCH CONFERENCE to highlight the testimonies of underground house church leaders from China, North Korea, Pakistan, and the Middle East. Come and join us this year in Moravian Falls, NC, on October 26 & 27 for a powerful weekend of sitting at the feet of the persecuted church and learning from their experiences.

TICKETS ON SALE APRIL 25! SPACE IS LIMITED!

For many generations, the western world has been a safety bastion for Christians, but that is changing quickly. Persecution against Christians around the world, including in the west, is increasing fast – as promised to us in the last days.

This increase of persecution is leading many believers to ask the question, “How do we deal with this increase of persecution and what can we learn from those who have gone through it?”

不要怕(Bu yao pa)! – “Do not fear!” – is the message from Brother Yun. This increase of persecution is not a reason to fear, but it is a reason to rejoice, for the day of the return of Jesus is closer now than ever before.

OPTIONAL – Friday night BTJ Texas BBQ Brisket Meal!

(Additional Add-on Ticket is required for this event!)

  • Date: October 25, 2024, 5:30pm
  • Cost: $50 for Adults 16+ // $25 for Children 5-15 // Free for Children under 5
  • Where: To be announced to ticket holders, Moravian Falls, NC

Our special Friday Night event will include the introduction of our speakers and a Business as Missions Brisket meal.

The Chinese church employs Business as Mission (BAM), not as a strategic choice, but out of necessity. BAM serves multiple purposes – it facilitates visa procurement, provides a platform for ministry engagement, offers a cover for evangelism activities and generates income to support missionaries. For more information on Business as Missions concept, click here.

*This meal will be served to you by our BTJ staff and proceeds will go to cover the cost of our speakers flights and accommodations*

Speaker Lineup & Bios

  • Brother Yun: Brother Yun, also known as the Heavenly Man, is an exiled underground Chinese house church evangelist, and one of the most well known leaders of the Back To Jerusalem vision. Brother Yun’s amazing story of supernaturally escaping from China’s maximum security prison can be found in the book about his life THE HEAVENLY MAN. Brother Yun will be sharing details about how he saw the church grow in China during times of intense persecution.
  • Pastor Isaac Liu: Pastor Isaac Liu is pastor of international church ALL NATIONS CHURCH in Frankfurt, Germany. Pastor Isaac was born in China while his father was in prison for preaching the Gospel. His mother was about to be forced into having an abortion, though seven months pregnant, because she was carrying the child of an enemy of the state. After desperate prayer, the night before she was due to go into a hospital for the operation, she miraculously gave birth. Isaac grew up with both parents on the run from authorities and learned what life was like early on as a member of the house church, reminding us that it is not just pastors that are persecuted, but their families as well.
  • Esther Chang: Esther Chang is one of the few people alive today that knows what it is like to be a prisoner for her faith in both China and North Korea. Esther was thrown in China’s secret underground prison in the north east to never be heard from again, but God was not done with her. She was thrown into prison in North Korea for preaching the Gospel, but God had other plans for her life. Esther had planted more churches and delivered more Bibles inside North Korea than almost any other known evangelist alive today and her amazing story can be found in her book SMUGGLING LIGHT. Esther will be able to share first-hand how churches grow during times of the most intense persecution.
  • Andrew Brunson: Andrew Brunson along with his wife Norine were involved in starting churches, training, aid to refugees, and a house of prayer in Turkey for 23 years until being falsely accused of terrorism in October 2016. After this Andrew was held for two years in Turkish prisons. Due to a worldwide prayer movement and significant political pressure from the US government, he was finally sentenced and then dramatically released in October 2018. Andrew has a PhD from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. Andrew and Norine have three grown children.
  • Abdull: Abdull from Iran was the son of an Ayatollah, and trained in an Islamic school. He had an impressive career in the Iranian army and secret services, before becoming one of the first Iranian Muslim background believers. He was put on death row for his faith, and actually died and spent two days in a morgue before coming back to life. Now his unique experiences and abilities allow him to serve God in closed nations in ways few other people can.
  • Shagufta Kausar: Shagufta from Pakistan was falsely accused of blasphemy and imprisoned in 2013. In 2014 she was sentenced to death. She spent 7 years on death row under terrible conditions. Some of that time Sagufta was held in the same prison as Asia Bibi, another famous victim of Pakistan’s notorious blasphemy laws. In 2021, after much international pressure, she was unexpectedly cleared of all charges and reunited with her husband and children. Because of continued death threats, Shagufta and her family now live in Europe. Shagufta can testify to the faithfulness of God, who sustained here in these trials. Her story was recently recorded in the book “Under Threat of Death”, by Eugene Bach.
  • Peter Xu Yong Ze: Peter Xu has been one of the most prominent house church leaders in China, leading a network of millions of believers. Like many of his fellow leaders, he spent much time in prison. Peter was imprisoned five times. Once, he was in a high security prison together with Brother Yun and Peter Xu witnessed him walk out unnoticed as doors miraculously opened. Throughout his ministry, he has trained countless evangelists. His desire is that many more Chinese will be sent out, and the churches of the East and the West will unite to preach the gospel along the Silk Road, all the way back to Jerusalem. Peter Xu currently lives in the United States.
  • Eugene Bach: Dr. Eugene Bach is a known trouble-maker with an active imagination and sinful past. He has a PhD, but is not a real doctor, so please do not call for him during a medical emergency on an airplane when someone is having a heart attack. Eugene started working for Back to Jerusalem in the year 2000 after a backroom deal involving Chinese spies, the NRA, Swiss bankers, and a small group of Apostolic Christians that only baptize in Jesus’ name. He spends most of his time in closed countries attempting to topple governments by proclaiming the name of Jesus and not taking showers. From time-to-time he pretends to be a writer. He is not good at it, but everyone around him tries to humor him.
  • Worship Leader Nathan Reynerson: Nathan’s heartbeat is to know God, and to see His kingdom come and His will be done. He has seen God move through worship, healing, and miracles. Through the power of God, he has seen lives changed and restored and wants to see God glorified in and through him all the days of our life. Since 1997, Nathan has had a passion for leading worship in spirit and truth and has traveled to 15 different countries leading worship and spreading the Gospel of Jesus. He operates a business that helps people in Africa use their God-given creative abilities to provide for their families. He serves on the board of Rock Foundation Cambodia, is currently working with Jesus Focused Youth Ministry and ReachOut Youth Solutions in Cuba, and is fully invested in the commandment of Jesus to go into all the world and make disciples.
