Dramatic Footage: Deadly Floods Kill Hundreds in Pakistan, Kashmir, and Nepal

Deadly floods have been ripping through Pakistan, Kashmir, and Nepal over the weekend, killing more than 400 people.

Scores of people are still missing and the death toll is expected to rise significantly. The floods have triggered landslides, washed out bridges and roads, destroyed houses, and brought a lot of destruction in its path.

Washed out roads and landslides have prevented emergency workers from accessing the areas that have been hit worst.

Without knowing the Words of Christ, many locals have turned to their local religions praying that their gods would save them.  In one gruesome instance, a goat is senselessly sacrificed, throat brutally slit and thrown into the floods in desperate hopes to stop the rain, but their prayers seem to have gone unanswered.

The rescue effort is also having a difficult time.  In addition to not being able to get to the most affected areas, members of the rescue were killed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province after a helicopter crashed during relief efforts.

The weather forecast is no help. Rain is expected to intensify from today onwards according to Pakistan’s Meteorological Department which is warning of more flash floods and urban flooding. BTJ team members will be in India this week to work with the church. Please keep the teams in your prayers.
