Christians Attacked on Easter Morning in Pakistan

On April 5, 2026, in Pakistan, more than 200 believers woke up before the sun rose. They gathered with candles in their hands, some with their families, some with close friends, walking together to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. It was quiet; reverent; hopeful.

They were doing what believers all over the world were doing—lifting their voices, remembering that death no longer has the victory. And then, without warning… a truck drove straight into them.

Everything changed in seconds.

Worship turned into confusion.
Songs into cries for help.
Celebration into survival.

What had just been worshiping God, became utter confusion. People were thrown to the ground. Children were separated from parents. Over 60 believers were injured, and some still fight for their lives. However, one man went home to be with the Lord.  These were our spiritual brothers and sisters in Christ. They had names, faces, and families.

Authorities are calling this a simple but tragic traffic incident. However on the ground, believers are not so quick to move on because this is just reminiscent of an incident that happened on Easter Sunday in 2016. These attacks seem to be targeted towards Christians who celebrate Easter. Christians in Pakistan know that following Jesus is not abstract. It is visible; it is costly; and at times it is dangerous.

They know that gathering publicly, especially on a day like Easter, carries risks.

And still… they went. They still got up early; they still worshiped openly, and they still declared—Jesus is alive.
