China is a Communist country and citizens are not allowed to vote for their leaders, but it seems that some Chinese might be voting in the United States election.
Last week, a Chinese national was caught illegally voting in the US presidential election in Michigan. Even though it was discovered that their vote was illegal, there is no way to stop their vote from counting. Their vote will be counted because it has already been processed into the system and according to reports, cannot be removed.
The 19 year old from China now faces felony charges under Michigan law, including perjury, charges that could lead to a four-year prison sentence and a $2,000 fine. Michigan’s Attorney General Dana Nessel has announced an independent investigation into the case.
This report comes on the heels of a report from Homeland Security’s Mark Green, who has reported that “military-age men” from China with “known ties” to China’s People’s Liberation Army are pouring across the open border between America and Mexico without being monitored or documented.
American elections are important to China, because the US government has played an important role in the past for monitoring and reporting on China’s Christian persecution. If China can sway the leadership of the government, they can strongly influence the nature of the human rights reports.
