Chinese Government Making Christian Music More Communist Friendly

China has been actively forcing seminaries to change Biblical teaching to be more Communist friendly, but now they are taking it one step further by also changing Christian music.

“China’ization,” also known as “Sinicization,” is the act of taking changing Christian teachings and making them more Communist.  A lot of Christian music has had a huge impact in China, so the Communist Party is taking active measures to infiltrate it and change it. Old hymns have stood the test of time and remained a part of underground house church worship, even though the Party has tried to eliminate them. New songs are spreading even though they have been banned.

A young Christian mother, Xin Ruoyu, was held in a secret prison for more than a month, after developing one of the most popular Christian song apps called “Song of Songs.”

None of the Communist Party efforts to eliminate Christian music in China has been successful, so they have now abandoned their efforts. Last month, a “National Sacred Music Sinicization Training Seminar” organized by the government-controlled Two National Christian Councils was held in Xiamen, Fujian.

Over sixty official government church workers from all across China gathered to strategize how to change sacred Christian music and make it more Communist.

“Sinicizing” Christian music is a key to the “five-year plan for the Sinicization of Christianity.” Christian leaders were told they should prepare Christian music to be more patriotic and Communist.
