China Announces Plans to “Change the Face of World Christianity.”

China is about to do something that they have never done before – “Change the face of world Christianity!” China hosted a conference last month and launched a plan to make Christianity around the world look more like it does in China.
China’s government-sanctioned church is controlled by the Communist Party in China. At the head of the church is a member of the Communist Party who has sworn an oath to atheism; a requirement when joining the party. In essence, that means that the official church in China is run by an atheist.
When faced with eradicating Christianity from China, Mao Zedong ran into the same problems that his fellow Communist tyrants did. Christians would not give up their faith, even under the threat of death and torture.
So, the Communist Party in China took another tactic. Instead of destroying it, they have attempted to control it and change it. In its attempts to change what Christianity looks like in China, the official churches have largely adopted a policy of not allowing evangelism, prohibiting talk of the fulfilling the Great Commission, removing children, banning teachings of the resurrection, the virgin birth, and the second-coming.
China is also creating their own socialist version of the Bible that is due to be completed in a few years. Lately however, the government has adopted an even more aggressive socialist approach to the church, making them less Christian and more like training centers for Communist ideology.
At the latest conference, China has now shown that they have plans to export their version of Christianity and evangelize Communist-style Christianity in the west.
China is arranging some of the most key and competent individuals to export Communist-Christianity to the rest of the world. According to one report, this was a primary goal of the “Training Meeting for Key Pastors of the Northeast China Christian Region” that was held from June 27 to 30 in Changchun, Jilin province. The Christian conference enjoyed a level of support that no other Christian program enjoys – a nationwide broadcast covered by national Chinese media!
Pastor Kan Baoping, Vice Chairman of China Christian Three-Self Patriotic Movement Committee, layed out the plan.
Pastor Kan Baoping used the formula, “one major task and two major problems” to describe the current status and the future projects of the Three-Self Church. The two problems are “resisting external infiltration and […] protecting the unity of Christianity by resisting […] heresies and illegal religion.”
The first problem, according to Pastor Kan Baoping, is ‘external infiltration,’ which is code for foreign missionaries working in China. China does not want foreign missionaries in China sharing a Gospel message that is contrary to Communist doctrine.
The other ‘major problem’ according to Pastor Kan, is ‘heresies and illegal religion.’ This is directly referencing the underground house churches in China, that represent the overwhelming majority of Christians in China and Christian growth.
The major task, according to Pastor Kan, is to transform “the successful experience of the Sinicization of Christianity,” which, as he explains it is “Christianity adapted to a Socialist society.”
The Chinese Communist Party believes that their current practice of implementing the teachings of Mao Zedong, Karl Marx, and President Xi into Christianity has been successful, even though it has failed to grow at the same pace as the underground house church. Foreign missionaries and underground house churches have not helped with that goal, so now China plans to go on the offense and evangelize the world with their brand of Christianity.
“We will change the face of world Christianity,” Pastor Kan said to an excited audience.
