Catastrophic Landslide Hits Chinese Village

Following a catastrophic landslide in Jinping Village, Junlian County, Sichuan Province, authorities evacuated around 200 residents from the area.

Rescue operations continue as authorities search for over 30 missing people. Ten homes were buried under debris when an unexpected disaster struck on Saturday morning. Despite their continuous efforts, rescue teams have only managed to save two people. The search continues urgently for any other survivors.

The Ministry of Emergency Management in China established a top-tier task force to manage rescue operations immediately following the disaster. The Sichuan Provincial Fire Rescue Corps deployed 443 rescue workers into eight distinct groups and had armed police officers guide their recovery activities.

The National Development and Reform Commission provided 50 million yuan for infrastructure restoration alongside the Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Emergency Management which supplied 30 million yuan for disaster relief.

Prayer stands as the fundamental element in this crisis despite the critical need for financial resources. Jesus prioritized two primary commands and one of them instructs people to love their neighbor as they would love themselves. The most effective support we can provide to people in Sichuan Province is through our prayers. Let us seek God’s comforting presence for the people of Sichuan Province as they endure this time of profound grief.
