BTJ’s Smugglers Hat has a Secret Hidden on the Inside

Back to Jerusalem’s smugglers hat is not like any other hats out there. On the outside it looks the same, but on the inside, it has four small secret pockets.
The four secret pockets can be used to carry money, ID, credit cards, etc, but most of all, the pockets serve as a tribute to remind us of what Christians go through every day. You might not ever use that hat to smuggle anything, but the hope is that it will serve as a reminder of the brothers and sisters who risk their lives every day to sneak Bibles into closed nations.
The black hat with white lettering is a one size fits-all with an adjustable velcro strap.
Each BTJ Smugglers hat comes with the BTJ Logo on the front. The logo is a special take on the Chinese character 回which means “to return to” or “go back to.” This logo on the front of the hat has a secret meaning that even many Chinese do not know about. The character means “to return,” but if you look closely you will see that the Chinese character 回is made up of two characters. One is an outer wall and one is an inner gate.
The vision of returning back to Jerusalem goes back to Jesus’ promise that involves a wall (the wall of Jerusalem) and a messianic gate (the Eastern Gate). He will return back to the Mount of Olives (Acts 1) and return through the Eastern Gate (Ezekiel 44:1–3, once all nations have heard the Good News (Matthew 24:14).
This entire message can be communicated to the Chinese through a very simple ancient character and that is why we put it on our BTJ smugglers hat. It is a great message to share with the Chinese while traveling.
In addition to that is a great conversation starter on the back of the hat. Back to Jerusalem is written in Chinese along the back adjustment strap – 回归耶路撒冷.
This hat makes a great gift, conversation starter, and if you know the meaning and purpose – a great way to talk about the persecuted church and the return of Jesus Christ.
The hat is made through our Christian partners in Vietnam. 100% of the proceeds goes to BTJ projects.
