BTJ Smugglers Hat

Each BTJ Smugglers hat comes with the BTJ Logo on the front and “Back to Jerusalem” written in Chinese along the back adjustment strap.
This black hat features the Chinese character 回 (hui), which has multiple definitions, but four of them are especially pertinent to our ministry:
- To return
- To turn around
- Muslim
- To circle
It should be evident why the first definition is significant to BTJ. It is the first word of our name. The Chinese have a vision from God to take the Gospel back to Jerusalem where it first began. This does not mean going directly to Jerusalem, but to all the nations between China and Jerusalem, known as the 10/40 window and home to most of the 3 billion unreached people in the world today.
The second definition is the same as the definition of repent (回头). The Chinese Church has a deep desire to see those who do not know Christ, repent and receive salvation.
The third definition is significant, as a large number of those living between China and Jerusalem are Muslim. The Chinese Church has a special heart for those lands which have been bound by Islam for years.
The last definition should be seen as special to all believers, because, as it is written, peace will only come to Jerusalem when the Messiah arrives (Isaiah 9:1-7). Thus, we want to go back to Jerusalem, creating a circle with the Gospel. When we look at Scripture, we can see that the Gospel has no beginning or end, like a circle.
This hat is unique in that it has four secret pockets tucked into the inside, allowing one to “smuggle” money, credit cards, or a driver’s license while traveling. More importantly, this hat serves as a reminder to pray for our brothers and sisters in closed countries who risk their lives to smuggle God’s Word into those countries.
